Server Tester — Support

Version: 2.0.0
Last updated: 2025‑12‑22

Welcome to Server Tester support. This page provides help, FAQs, and contact information.

What is Server Tester?

Server Tester helps you define “hosts” (base URLs) and run batches of requests against them (HTTP and supported raw-socket checks). You can validate responses (for example expected status codes), review recent activity, and optionally run background checks with notifications.

Contact

  • Email: support@salenius.se
  • Typical response time: within 2 business days
  • When contacting us, please include:
    • App version and iOS/iPadOS/macOS version
    • Device model
    • Steps to reproduce (if reporting a bug)
    • A screenshot/screen recording (optional)
    • The host/request configuration you used (redact secrets)

Frequently Asked Questions

1) How do I add a host?

  • Open the Hosts view
  • Tap Add
  • Enter a Base URL (for example https://api.example.com)
  • (Optional) Add default headers (be careful with secrets)
  • Save

2) How do I add multiple requests per host?

  • Open a host
  • Add requests (method + endpoint + optional expected status/body)
  • Save, then run the batch

3) How do expected status checks work?

  • If a request has an expected status set (for example 200), Server Tester compares it to the response status.
  • If no expected status is set, the request is still executed and the outcome is recorded.

4) Can Server Tester run checks in the background and show notifications?

Yes, when background checks are enabled in the app and the system allows it.

If you don’t receive notifications: - Ensure notifications are allowed for Server Tester in Settings. - Ensure Background App Refresh is enabled. - Low Power Mode and system scheduling can reduce background execution frequency.

5) I don’t see results updating

  • Confirm you have network connectivity.
  • Check that the host Base URL and request endpoint are correct.
  • If you use default headers, verify header names/values and remove any invalid characters.

6) Does Server Tester support non‑HTTP checks?

Some versions support raw-socket style checks for non-HTTP schemes (for example TCP/UDP-style probes). Support depends on the request runner and the target scheme.

Troubleshooting

Background checks don’t run reliably

iOS schedules background work opportunistically. Things that can prevent or delay checks: - Low Power Mode - Background App Refresh disabled - Notifications disabled (if you rely on alerts) - No network connectivity - The app not being used recently (iOS may deprioritize it)

The app crashes or freezes

Data & Privacy

  • Hosts, requests, and recent activity are stored locally on your device (SwiftData).
  • Network requests are sent only to the hosts you configure.
  • If you enable notifications, the app may display request outcomes in local notifications.
